How I Work
My core training is in Person-Centred therapy, which shapes the foundation of how we begin our work together. In our initial sessions, I take a non-directive approach, rather than giving advice or coaching, I offer a calm, open space where you can explore whatever feels most important to you, in your own time and in your own way.
Throughout our conversations, I’ll bring a gentle curiosity, reflecting back what I notice and offering alternative perspectives that may support deeper insight or new understanding.
If you're drawn to explore additional tools or approaches outside of sessions, I also have experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I'm happy to suggest techniques, but only if this feels aligned with your needs, goals, and preferences.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to offering empathy, honesty, and a genuine human connection. I believe the therapist client dynamic between us is central to the therapeutic counselling process, so my focus is always on creating a space where you feel truly safe, valued, and accepted, just as you are, with whatever you’re carrying.
How I use Person-Centred Therapy
I use Person-Centred Therapy to give you the space and support to explore what’s troubling you, in your own way and at your own pace. Rather than offering direct advice or solutions, I work with you to deeply understand your world from your perspective. I walk alongside you with empathy and care.
This non-directive style of therapy encourages self-exploration and helps you build greater self-awareness and understanding. By being truly heard and accepted, many clients find they’re able to connect with their own inner resources and discover the answers that feel right for them.
How I support different people
Therapy for Women
You’ve spent years caring, building, and showing up for others — but lately, something feels out of alignment.
Whether you’re navigating change in relationships, career, or identity, you may sense it’s time to return to yourself.
In women’s counselling, I provide a compassionate and affirming space to process life transitions, emotional overwhelm, or self-doubt.
Together, we’ll explore what’s been silenced or suppressed, helping you reconnect with your voice, boundaries, and worth.
Therapy can support you to:
-
Navigate menopause and midlife transitions with clarity and self-compassion
-
Manage stress, anxiety, or feelings of burnout
-
Strengthen confidence and emotional resilience
-
Reconnect with meaning, joy, and purpose
Therapy for women is about coming home to yourself — finding steadiness and self-acceptance amid change. If you’re looking for women’s counselling I’d be honoured to support you on your journey toward renewal and balance.
Therapy for Men
Many men reach a point in life where success on paper doesn’t match how they feel inside. You may be carrying the quiet pressure to “hold it together,” even when things feel uncertain. Perhaps you’re questioning your direction, your relationships, or your sense of purpose — wondering where you fit in the story you’ve built.
As a therapist who understands the unique challenges men face around midlife transitions, emotional wellbeing, and identity, I offer a safe, affirming space to slow down and reconnect with what really matters.
Through therapy for men, we can explore emotions, unlearn patterns of self-suppression, and cultivate emotional clarity and confidence.
Together, we’ll work on:
-
Managing midlife stress, anxiety, and self-doubt
-
Exploring identity and purpose beyond achievement or roles
-
Strengthening relationships and communication
-
Finding balance between vulnerability and resilience
You don’t have to navigate it alone. Men’s counselling can help you build insight, steadiness, and authenticity — empowering you to live with greater presence and meaning.
LGBTQIA+
affirming therapy
For many LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, belonging can feel complex — especially when your identity or relationships have been met with misunderstanding or judgment. You may be healing from past self-suppression or longing to live more freely and authentically.
I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy — a trauma-informed, inclusive space where every part of you is seen, respected, and celebrated.
Together, we can explore emotional regulation, relationship dynamics, and self-acceptance, supporting you in reconnecting with the truth of who you are.
Through this work, we can:
-
Heal from internalised shame or past rejection
-
Strengthen identity, self-worth, and belonging
-
Support queer couples and relationships through change and connection
-
Cultivate balance, confidence, and pride in living authentically
If you’re looking for LGBTQIA+ therapy near me or want to work with a therapist who truly affirms your identity, I invite you to get in touch.
Together, we’ll create a space where you can live with confidence, balance, and pride — building a life that reflects your truth.
Life changes I can help you navigate

Grief, Loss and Bereavement,
(Including Pet Loss)
Loss touches every part of life. Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one, mourning the end of a relationship or friendship, adjusting to job loss or retirement, or coping with illness and change, grief can feel overwhelming. You may feel lost, numb, angry, or unsure how to move forward.
As a compassionate psychotherapist experienced in grief and bereavement counselling, I offer a calm, understanding space to help you make sense of what you’re feeling. Grief is not something to “get over” — it’s something we learn to live with, one breath and one conversation at a time.
In our work together, we can:
-
Explore and understand your unique experience of loss
-
Find gentle ways to express pain, love, and remembrance
-
Reconnect with a sense of meaning and purpose
-
Support you in adjusting to life after change or loss
-
Honour the bond you shared — whether with a person, a pet, or a chapter of life that’s ended
You don’t have to face this alone.

Menopause, Andropause, and Midlife Transitions
Midlife can bring a mix of reflection, uncertainty, and change. You may be noticing shifts in energy, mood, or relationships — or struggling with the physical and emotional changes that come with menopause, andropause, or aging.
Perhaps you’re feeling more anxious or withdrawn, questioning your identity, or wondering how to reconnect with yourself and others. These transitions are a natural part of life, but they can also feel deeply unsettling.
As a psychotherapist experienced in menopause counselling, andropause therapy, and midlife transitions, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore these experiences with compassion and understanding. Together, we can make sense of what’s changing — physically, emotionally, and relationally — so you can move forward feeling more balanced and confident.
In our work together, we might:
-
Explore emotional changes in menopause or andropause, including anxiety, irritability, or mood swings
-
Address midlife anxiety and the impact of hormonal changes on self-esteem and relationships
-
Reconnect with your body and navigate therapy for aging, identity, and shifting life roles
-
Strengthen communication and intimacy with partners during this season of change
-
Support men’s hormonal health and emotional wellbeing through andropause therapy and lifestyle awareness.
Midlife doesn’t have to be a crisis — it can be an awakening. With the right support, you can rediscover clarity, purpose, and self-acceptance. Therapy can help you feel grounded in who you are now, while creating space for what’s next.
If you’re seeking midlife counselling or simply want to feel more supported as you navigate this chapter, I invite you to reach out. Let’s begin the conversation — one that helps you feel seen, understood, and ready to embrace the next stage of your life.
